2025 YDSA Convention

This year’s YDSA Convention is being held from August 6th to 7th, 2025, in Chicago, IL. Please read below for information on how to attend and contribute to convention this year!

Who can attend the Convention?

The YDSA convention is open to elected delegates from official YDSA chapters. The national DSA office will inform each official YDSA of the size of the delegation they can send to the convention. Delegation sizes will be proportionate to the number of dues-paying members in each chapter. Chapters will then hold elections to decide which members will represent them at the convention. All delegates must be dues-paying members of DSA. 

Delegate lists are due by the priority deadline of Sunday, June 15th.

What happens at the Convention?

If you would like to submit a resolution or constitutional amendment, you can do so until May 18th.  Secondary submissions are open until June 22nd.

NCC Nominations

Also at the Convention, we elect a new National Coordinating Committee, or NCC. The NCC is composed of 9 members from YDSA chapters, who lead the organization outside the convention. They create committees, run campaigns, plan national events, and do much more to sustain the national organization over the next year based on what is passed at convention as well as the political moment. The NCC has two co-chairs who also sit on DSA’s national leadership, the NPC, and seven at-large members.

You must collect 10 nominations in order to qualify to run for NCC. Nominations are due on June 22nd.
